2008 is the 50th anniversary of the 111 service in New Zealand. To mark this milestone year, the New Zealand Fire Service, Ambulance Services, the New Zealand Police and guests gathered at the Avalon Fire Station in Lower Hutt in May to launch this joint emergency services 111 website, look back over 50 years and to set the stage for the future.
